Earl S. Hinds, M.S.T.C.M., L.Ac.

In 1976, I was in two rear-end car accidents during 48 hours. I had a severe whiplash which kept me in constant pain for 18 months. I finally decided to try acupuncture. It took only 3 months of treatment until I was completely free from pain. My acupuncturist told me that he was treating his father for pancreatic cancer. His dad had a grapefruit sized tumor on his pancreas. Using Chinese medicine, the tumor was reduced to the size of a golf ball. This made his dad’s surgery much less invasive and also paved the way for an easier recovery.

I developed a passionate interest in sharing the power of acupuncture to promote and restore health and also to help others realize their maximum potential. This led me first to become a professional body worker in 1979. I also learned T’ai Chi and traditional Chinese martial arts. I have been teaching T’ai Chi and Qi Gong since 1993. I currently teach eight T’ai Chi Classes weekly for the city of Benicia. In 2005 I obtained a Master of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine. After completing over 900 clinical hours, in 2008 I received my California State Acupuncture License.

Along with Acupuncture, I integrate components from CranioSacral Therapy, Ortho-Bionomy®, Distance Healing From the Core, Native American Shamanism, Yin Tui Na, Yang Tui Na and Muscle Energy Work. Jill and I met in an Upledger CranioSacral Therapy Workshop and have been working together since 2006. She and I complement each other with our unique skills and backgrounds in body work, Chinese medicine, complementary health care and personal development.

In 1979 serious injuries impacted my ability to perform as a professional flutist. I experienced pain 24/7. After years of searching, I discovered help through acupuncture and gentle bodywork techniques. My pain relief and subsequent healing impressed me at a deep level. I knew I had to learn this work so I could share it with others. My own recovery launched me into an unexpected but passionate new career in the complementary healing arts.

Before meeting Earl I was afraid of needles. He uses a comprehensive form of acupuncture with extremely thin Japanese needles and Accu-Patch Pellets (tiny stainless steel balls on clear adhesive tape). My former needle-phobia has been replaced with deep relaxation during my treatments and significant symptom reduction and healing afterwards.

Patients often comment on the fact that as Earl and I work together, we hold the synergy and balance of Yin and Yang. The combination of modalities we employ is extremely effective in resolving a large number of injuries and health issues in a very relaxing, rejuvenating manner.

I’ve been a professional body worker since 2003. I incorporate elements from CranioSacral Therapy, Acupressure, Distance Healing From the Core, Yin Tui Na, Rosen Method, Reflexology, Treating Fibromyalgia and Understanding Personal Energy, into the work I’m privileged share with our patients.
